Bottega Vinaia is the fruition of a vision shared by Giacinto Giacomini and Anselmo Martini to create the best wines Trentino had to offer. Already successful as managing director and chief winemaker at Cavit Winery, they went to the source –the 5,000 growers in the region-- to improve the quality of the grapes. After tasting the grapes, negotiating, and researching the history of the vineyards, they settled on the Valle dei Laghi area of the Dolomite Alps. They found that the combination of the high altitude, gentle incline and the “Ora del Garda”, a breeze that comes from the nearby lake, reduces external moisture and disease. Local farmers who have cared for their vineyards for generations own these low yielding crus. The Bottega Vinaia label makes Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Pinot Grigio of exceptional value and quality. The Pinot Grigio has a fresh flavor with more than average depth, and a long, lush finish. We are offering this excellent Pinot Grigio at a special price, but also carry the equally delicious Chardonnay and Merlot.
Wine maker notes
Grapes are handpicked and vinified on site. Musts are obtained from a gentle pressing, and fermentation conducted using selected yeasts at controlled temperatures of 68° to 72° F. Fining and clarification occur in stainless steel tanks, followed by stabilization and bottling in cold, sterile conditions.
