We tried to feature Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc last summer, but there weren’t enough cases in the state to feature the wine. So we waited until this winter to place our orders. I know that the fresh, zippy style of New Zealand Sauvigon Blanc is perfect for summer, but well made wines are perfect all year round. The Delegat Wine Estate, a family owned and managed operation situated on the Marlborough Sounds north tip of the South Island, make an elegant yet assertive white that can be paired with many dishes. We like the clean brace of acidity that wakes up the palate, followed by the smooth weighty balance of citrus and mineral flavors. Start the summer early with a burst of southern hemisphere bottled sunshine.
