Blackberry jam and plums explode on the palate with a touch of white pepper. . While Syrah (88%), Cabernet Sauvignon (8%), and Merlot (4%) provide the foundation, the French oak softens the hard tannins from the wine. This combination when married with the one to four-year-old oak barrels, lend themselves to a very velvety smooth finish. The fruit for this stunner is grown primarily in Stellenbosch and Darling wine growing regions of South Africa. Meant to be drunk young, this bistro-style wine is an ode to wines from the Rhone.
Hans Schroeder and Neil Ellis have created an amazing value for those wishing to put a bottle on the table every evening. They got their start together in 1993, when Hans bought property in the Jonkershoek Valley to be farmed with vinifera grapes. Now Hans and Neil have taken their wines to the next level by providing this wonderful little jewel along with their “Sincerely” Sauvignon Blanc (Again an homage, but to Sancerre in the Loire Valley). A great wine to finish off a gorgeous Summer, and begin the fall. Pairs well with Beef, Game, Pasta dishes, Latin food, and an excellent alternative for turkey.
