On the eye warm amber. Breathe in subtle lemon and honey, balanced beautifully by Bowmore’s trademark peaty smokiness. Sip sweet and delicious heather honey and gentle peat smoke. Savour the long, mellow finish.
Ultimate Beverage Challenge 93 points - (Tried & True Award)- Bright yellow/golden color. Aroma offers oodles of barley malt dryness and ample sea breeze saltiness that underpins the entire bouquet. There’s a tightness to the flavor that’s austere but multilayered in layers of oak, vanilla, salty sea air, mild peat reek, biscuity batter, toffee. Aftertaste is medium long, pleasantly toasty. (Mar 2015)

Complex yet perfectly balanced, our 12 Years Old reflects the raw essence of Bowmore - thrashing waves, windswept landscapes and generations of tradition. Bowmore 12 Years Old has received much critical acclaim; the late, great whisky writer Michael Jackson proclaimed it ”remarkably long and complex”. We like to think of it as vanilla ice cream at a beach bonfire.
Technical notes
A simply beautiful nose marrying scents of sweet malt, wild flowers, honey, kumquat, and campfire. Perfectly balanced offering sweet fruity and cocoa notes with dry smoke, brown spices and pepper. Bright and fresh while mature and sophisticated.

Producer
Bowmore’s celebrated Single Malt has been distilled on this jewel of an island, the Queen of the Hebrides, ever since 1779. This makes it the first of Islay’s eight distilleries chronologically speaking (and by taste too, many would say). Now, as then, Bowmore is widely acknowledged to be among the finest and most perfectly balanced single malts in the world.
