This distinctive white wine is 100% Arneis, an ancient varietal cultivated in the Roero hills above Alba in the Piedmont region of Italy. The choice production zone is on the left bank of the Tanaro River, exposed to the cool morning sun, and this Arneis comes from the heart of this area: Canale. Arneis fruit is so delicious it was planted in Nebbiolo vineyards because birds prefer Arneis and its juice was used to soften astringent Nebbiolo wine. This wine’s bouquet and flavors are persistent with apricot, pear, almonds, wet stone and chamomile. The succulent flavors flow with velvety smoothness toward a buoyant aftertaste wherein for long moments a rich succession of flavors continues to develop and expand in elegant balance with bright, mouth-watering acidity. Drink this refreshing wine with hors d’oeuvre, rice, pasta, fish and poultry.
