The outstanding 2005 Zinfandel Annette's Reserve (80% Zinfandel, 15% Petite Sirah, and 5% Carignan) exhibits a deep ruby/purple color in addition to notes of licorice, black cherries, currants, earth, and spice box. Richly fruity and medium to full-bodied with good acidity and light to moderate tannin, it should drink nicely over the next 5-7 years.

Rosenblum's fascination with high ripeness is once again clear here, yet the wine is held back from the brink of uncontrolled late-harvest excess and is instead rich in very deep and well-defined blackberry fruit with pletinful oak spice sweetening the mix. It is full and fleshy in the mouth, and its ample back-palate tannins provide a firming assist that makes it wasy to predict that ite will grow into its best only after a few years have passed.
