Lan Crianza is our best selling Rioja. Lan stands for Logroño, Alva and Navarra, three provinces that produce Rioja wine. This medium- to full-bodied wine is aged in French barrels as opposed to the traditional American. Like its stablemate Lan Crianza offering, this Reserva is beloved of both critics and we common folk, garnering 90 points from Parker’s Wine Advocate. (Reservas are aged 3 years with at least 12 months in oak.) The color is quite dark and the nose needs a few swirls in the glass to open up. It is lush, fairly robust for the region and provides a long finish. This wine is delicious now but will improve over the next two years.
