Wine Advocate 90 points - The 2013 Chardonnay Russian River is a relatively large cuvee of between 12,000 and 15,000 cases. It offers up loads of baking spices, orange marmalade, white peach and honeysuckle. It is medium to full-bodied, pure, and at the same time, combines power and elegance. This should be drunk in its first several years of life.
41% from four different Dutton ranches, 32% Martinelli, 14% King, 11% Rochioli Vineyards, and 2% from Green Pastures (a 40-year-old Wente vineyard back Felta Creek Road). A slightly warmer climate compared with our more coastal sites results in an earlier harvest from these vineyards and a somewhat richer texture and flavor.
|Ramey Wine Cellars is dedicated to creating high quality, handcrafted wines with balance and richness from the areaís finest vineyards.
Our philosophy is our process:
Itís about respect for the land. Nature guides our process and we listen Ė closely.
Itís about terroir. The vineyards are selected for their ability to sustainably produce the highest quality fruit. The soil must be right for the climate, which must be right for the terrain, which must be right for the varietal.
Itís about harmony Ė the marriage of Old World methods with New World innovations.
Itís about a family of wines crafted for the now, but even better with age. Bold, but in check, sensual, these are wines in perfect balance.
Ramey Wine Cellars. Guided by passion and a commitment to goodness in the glass.
