Joel Peterson, Zen of Zin wine-maker, is a master of Zinfandel: founder of Ravenswood Joel fashioned his first Zin in 1976. His knowledge is deep and detailed, having worked with hundreds of vineyards in California. He knows vintages, who planted what vineyards in 1885, and when to harvest to preserve the structure and balance found in his wines. The Zen of Zin fruit is sourced predominantly from Sonoma County and contains a blend of Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Syrah and Carignane. Intended by Joel to represent the finest qualities of traditional Zinfandel at an affordable price, this wine is ripe and spicy with blackberry jam, chocolate, and toffee flavors.
