Layered, supple, rich with black fruits and a touch of mocha and mint, this Cabernet really over-delivers at this price. As is always the case, fine wine starts in the vineyards so it should come as no surprise that brothers Butch and Jerry Milbrandt come from a rich farming tradition – their parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles all made their living working the land. Raised since early childhood in Eastern Washington State, they planted their first vineyards along the windswept Columbia Valley in 1997 and sold their excellent grapes to some of Washington’s finest wineries. After eight years, Butch and Jerry decided instead to bottle the fruits of their labor, and since 2005 their wines have received great critical acclaim. This is a voluptuous and yet refreshing Cabernet to be enjoyed with roasts and grilled red meats.
