The Moutard-Diligent family have growing grapes in the Côte des Bar region of Champagne for centuries. In the 1920's the family began to produce Champagne under their own name, creating a house known for its excellent value as well as its use of lesser known grape varieties. Champagne Moutard is made from grapes harvested on 22 ha of land owned by the Moutard-Diligent family, as well as grapes grown throughout the sunny Côte des Bar. The soil of the region, made of clay and limestone enhances the fruity and rich aromas of the traditional grapes of Champagne-Chardonnay and Pinot Noir-and the addition of lesser known grapes such as Arbane lead to wines renowned for their fine mousse and finesse. By combining ancient methods and new techniques the Moutard-Diligent family are producing wines of unparalleled price to quality ratio.
