Nose: both rich and delicate, it opens onto a pleasant fruity smoothness: Mirabelle flesh, ripe pear, butterscotch, then a pleasant floral touch that makes it slightly spring like... Opening up slightly more, it unveils an almost exotic dimension on cocoa cream, vanilla, banana ice cream and prickly pear.
Mouth: both full and fresh, it confirms the promises of the nose... The attack is delicate and the flavours come in a surprising crescendo: lemon vanilla cream, apple jelly, preserved ginger...
Finish: a wonderful strong length, it warmly develops on the vanilla of American oak, whilst preserving the sensation of the distillate’s delicacy. The flavours of ripe fruit: pears, apples, bananas and greengage become blurred like a sweet reminder.
Balance: a surprisingly fruity whisky that is both fresh and delicate.
