Rich bouquet with intense minerality. Great structure, big mouthfeel - full and well rounded.
Vinous 91 points - Green apples, flowers, mint and smoke all take shape in the 2011 Chablis Bougros. One of the more unyielding, reticent wines in the range, the Bougros is going to require at least another year or two in bottle to start coming together. Today, it comes across as quite tightly wound, but with excellent potential.
Wine Advocate 89 points - I find the 2011 Chablis Bougros relatively straightforward for a grand cru. The style is built on an overt expression of fruit rather than on minerality. Citrus and white flowers meld together on the generous, enveloping finish. The 2011 Bougros is shaping up to be relatively accessible and easygoing. It should drink well pretty much upon release. Anticipated maturity: 2013+. (Aug 2012)
This climat lies at the very western end of the Grands Crus area, at altitudes ranging from 130 to 170m on fairly deep marl and clay terrain with a south-west exposure. On the palate, this appellation’s wines are often very full and rich.
