Stretching out along the left bank of the Rhône river, around the limestone outcrop of Mont Ventoux, the Ventoux
AOC covers an area of 15,808 acres. It shares the same climactic features (very sunny), and the same grape varieties
as the neighboring Côtes-du-Rhône and Chateauneuf-du-Pape vineyards. Delas’ Ventoux is a blend of wines from the
communes of Mazan and Goult, in the heart of the Ventoux appellation. It is 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah, vinified
and aged in stainless steel tanks. The result is a luscious, medium bodied red. Flavors of red and black fruits are the
focus but there are hints of pepper and garrigue to make things interesting. The structure is easy going: soft tannins
and gentle acidity. This is the kind of red that could have many partners at the table: grilled sausages, cold cuts and
mixed kabobs come to mind.
