In just over 20 years, Chile’s Cono Sur winery has built a reputation for well-crafted varietal wines at budget prices. Unabashedly New World in approach, the winery’s motto is “No family trees, no dusty bottles, just quality wine.” This juicy, refreshing Sauv Blanc from Cono Sur’s reserve line screams for warm weather fare, especially seafood. Freshly shucked oysters, cold chilled cucumber soup, ceviche and summer slaws will all taste great alongside a glass of this. Hailing from the cool Casablanca Valley, it blends a touch of tropical fruit with brisk citrus flavors and hints of flowers. The wine received a 90-point rating from Wine & Spirits magazine.
|Serve chilled as an aperitif or to complement salads, seafood, sushi and light hors d’oeuvres. It’s a great choice to serve next to soups like sweet corn cream, or cold cucumber soup. Dishes like meagre with sauteed vegetables, seafood salad, calamari risotto and salmon pasta are always welcome.
