We are always on the search for quality Bordeaux at the right price, and with Ch. Veyrin, we have found a classic style Bordeaux sold previously only in Belgium and Denmark. It is remarkably drinkable and from one of the most heralded vintages in the modern era. Robert Parker wrote that 2010, like 2009 and 2005 “may be the three greatest Bordeaux vintages I have tasted in my career.” Just 6,000 cases of this wine are made per year; 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Petit Verdot. Te grapes are hand-picked and aged in oak for 12 months. The Cabernet Sauvignon stands out on the nose, offering aromas of cassis, licorice and a touch of oak. It is ample and powerful on the palate, yet with firm, fresh, crunchy fruit, exhibiting excellent aging potential. It will pair perfectly with steak, lamb or duck.
