Good Pinot Noir at this price point, a wine that shows
varietal character – soft red fruits, minty, tea-leaf herbal
notes, bright acidity and silky tannins on the finish – is
hard to come by, so we were very happy to discover
this excellent Pinot Noir. Surprisingly, Wild Oats
is the creation of Australian icon Robert Oatley the
founder of Rosemount Estate wines in the Barossa
Valley. Wine writer Michael Apstein gave this wine
89 Points: “Sufficient non-fruity elements balance the
bright strawberry-like notes.
Mild tannins and bright
acidity provide enough structure so it’s not flabby or
sweet. It’s perfect for immediate consumption.
