This is a warm, generous red made from Monica with an outstanding value.
Santa Maria La Palma is one of the best
wine-producing cooperatives in Europe.
For over fifty years dedicated vignerons have
worked seven hundred hectares of vines
located in what is widely regarded as one
of the finest
winegrowing areas on the wind
swept island of Sardinia. It is here that the
mild temperatures and the exposure to
the winds blowing in from the coast have
combined to create an environment that favors
the production of high quality grapes that go into
this wonderfully affordable wine. Not dissimilar to a
good quality Cotes du Rhone red, this wine is rich with red
fruit character, medium-bodied tannins and aromatic herbal
notes on the finish. Drink with grilled red meats, game or aged
cheeses – a good wine also for burgers or pizza.
