The J.F. Wolf estate (now called Villa Wolf) was founded in 1756
in the Pfalz Region of Germany. You had a first taste of Villa Wolf
at Blanchardís a few years ago with their Rosť of Pinot Noir (now a
customer favorite that we have carried for the past 3 summers!) The
Pinot Gris varietal was actually first identified in the Pfalz region.
Villa Wolf Pinot Gris is made in a full-bodied, dry style with fresh,
unoaked fruit and a crisp texture. Half of each vintage is made in
large, neutral oak casks for depth and complexity and the other half is
done in stainless steel to preserve freshness and enhance the vibrant
fruit. To maintain consistent quality in every vintage, only clean,
perfectly healthy fruit is accepted ó no botrytis affected grapes
are allowed. Malolactic fermentation is avoided to maintain lively
acidity. The wine is bottled with a screwcap to preserve freshness.
A perfect choice for drinking Spring through Summer and beyond!
