Foppiano has been growing grapes in Sonoma County’s Russian River Valley since 1896, hence the name ‘Lot 96’, and is best known for its flagship varietal Petite Sirah. Lot 96 has all the varietally characteristic flavors of fine Petite Sirah, blackberry, plum and blueberry. The limited use oak during aging adds complexity and depth to the wine. The predominant aromatics are of blueberries, dark chocolate and black cherry with some nice spice notes. Smooth, fruity and very approachable on the palate this wine features supple tannins balanced with a strong backbone of lively acidity. The finish of dark fruit and vanilla lingers. Enjoy this wine with grilled meats and hearty, aged cheeses. Lot 96 could very easily become your everyday red table wine.
