Named after the founder Madame Clicquot, this prestige cuvée is made only in the finest years, and only from 8 Grand Cru vineyards. Produced in extremely limited quantities from the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vineyards Madame Clicquot purchased in the early 1800s. A supremely elegant vintage Champagne, La Grande Dame 1995. Pale gold-green color, with brilliant reflections, effervescence is delicate and extremely steady. On the nose there are dominant floral notes (mint and white flowers) mingled with hints of fresh fruit (especially citrus), followed by notes of vanilla and nougat. On the palate, the Pinot Noir reveals its personality through dominant fruit notes (white peaches, grapefruit). The balance is an ideal combination of freshness and vigor, with a long finish.
|Each Cuvee is true to the Veuve Clicquot style and spirit, faithfully maintained from the time when Madame Clicquot was running the House under the motto, ”Only one quality, the finest”. Created with a majority of Pinot Noir in the blend, the Veuve Clicquot Champagne style is noted for a firm structure, full-bodied texture and rich aromas.
